If you reckon you can do a better job than Dr. Dre at making 50 Cent sound good then prove it by installing this app on your iPhone.
The snappily-named 50 Cent "Baby By Me" Sound Lab gives you the chance to remix the rapper's hit single. You don't need to be an experienced music technician, either. The mixing desk consists of a series of icons that represent different tracks (e.g. drums, vocals, bass, etc.). You simply tap the corresponding icon to start or stop a track, or hold the icon to isolate just that track. You can also throw in some FX by tapping on one of the effects icons.
Once you're up and running with 50 Cent "Baby By Me" Sound Lab you can record your mixes and save them to your iPhone. You can then choose to share it with your friends on Facebook if you want. Alternatively, if you're feeling ultra confident with it, you can enter it into the contest to be judged by 50 Cent and maybe you'll win a trip to New York to kick your track live.
50 Cent "Baby By Me" Sound Lab is great fun, but you soon start yearning for more once you get bored of the loops and samples that are put in front of you.
It's an interesting format for an iPhone app and hopefully we'll see more of these sound labs from 50, as well as other artists.
